1. Current website
The production Shifter website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate page-visit statistics without analytics cookies. Google Analytics 4 is optional: its script and analytics cookies load only after you explicitly accept analytics cookies. We do not load advertising pixels or session-recording tools.
You can read the website, use checkout and send an enquiry without accepting analytics cookies.
2. Essential technologies
Our hosting provider may process IP addresses, request URLs, timestamps and security events to serve and protect the website. Your browser may cache files such as images and fonts.
We store your cookie choices (analytics and creator credit) and the version of the consent notice in your browser's local storage so we can remember that choice. We ask you to choose again after 180 days or when the consent version changes. This preference record is separate from analytics identifiers and does not contain form contents.
Enquiry form entries and the reference used to prevent duplicate submissions are held in memory while the page is open. The enquiry form does not save them in cookies or browser local storage. Checkout uses browser session storage to retain the checkout reference, verification token and selected options so a returning payment can be checked; these raw values are not sent to website analytics. If you arrive through a link carrying campaign tags (for example, one of our emails or LinkedIn posts), session storage also keeps that link's campaign tags in the tab so an enquiry or partner application can record which link brought you; it is cleared when you close the tab and is not used when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. After analytics consent, session storage also holds hashed transaction identifiers to prevent counting a verified purchase twice.
3. Website analytics
Vercel Web Analytics measures recognised public page visits. Vercel custom-event tracking is disabled. Page addresses sent to Vercel Web Analytics include any of the four campaign tags from the link you arrived by, and no other query parameters. Vercel derives a short-lived visitor hash from technical request information and discards that hash after 24 hours. Aggregate statistics can remain available for longer under Vercel’s retention terms. See Vercel’s analytics privacy information.
After your explicit analytics opt-in, Google Analytics 4 uses analytics cookies, including cookies with names beginning _ga, to measure page visits (page_view), plan choices (plan_cta), checkout starts (begin_checkout), enquiries accepted by our server (generate_lead) and purchases verified by our server with Stripe (purchase). Purchase events contain the actual amount and currency confirmed by Stripe and a hashed transaction identifier to prevent duplicate counting. Analytics cookies are configured with a 180-day expiry. This is separate from Google Analytics data retention, which follows the property's configured retention settings.
We send fixed event names, approved plan labels and recognised public page addresses without URL query strings or fragments, apart from any of the four campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content) in the link you arrived by. External referring sites are limited to their origin, without a path, query or fragment. Form answers, email addresses, submitted website addresses, card details, payment tokens and raw checkout or submission references are excluded. Private previews and unknown page paths are excluded from website analytics.
Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation remain disabled, and Google Signals is disabled. Accepting analytics does not enable advertising tracking.
Creator credit. If you arrived through a creator's link (shifter.co/c/…) and have allowed creator credit, your browser's local storage keeps shifter_creator_v1 for 90 days from your first visit. It holds the creator's handle and that date, so that creator can be credited. It is set only if you allow creator credit, and it is removed if you withdraw that choice or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
4. Your choices and browser controls
Use Cookie preferences in the footer to accept or reject optional cookies (analytics and creator credit) or change an earlier choice. No Google Analytics script loads before you opt in. Withdrawing analytics consent stops future Google Analytics collection and clears its cookies on this site; withdrawing creator credit removes the creator record. Neither deletes measurements already collected.
We do not load website analytics when your browser exposes an enabled Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. You can also block analytics requests with browser privacy tools. These choices do not prevent checkout or enquiry submission. Cookies, cached files and other site data, including your saved consent preference, can be managed through your browser settings.
5. External links and private previews
External services, such as LinkedIn and any payment or scheduling link we send you, have their own privacy and cookie practices when you open them.
Private website previews may require Vercel sign-in. Vercel manages the authentication needed to access those previews.
